Continue Exchange Sync after Microsoft's cutoff date.

Microsoft is retiring the original Exchange Sync technology many existing applications still use. Exchange Sync Bridge gives those applications a secure path forward, without waiting for the software vendor to add new Microsoft sync support.

  • Your Exchange data is not stored by Exchange Sync Bridge.
  • No user passwords are collected by Exchange Sync Bridge.
  • Built for existing software that has not been updated for Microsoft's new sync technology.
  • Cloud Hosted setup can usually be completed in minutes.

What Exchange Sync Bridge does

Your existing software keeps using its familiar Exchange Sync feature. Exchange Sync Bridge handles the Microsoft 365 connection behind the scenes.

  • Existing EWS-style requests
  • Translated to Microsoft Graph
  • Returned in the format your software expects

Microsoft is cutting off the original Exchange Sync path.

Many business applications rely on the original Microsoft Exchange Sync technology to synchronize calendars, contacts, tasks, or mailbox-related data with Microsoft 365.

Microsoft begins blocking that legacy sync access on October 1, 2026. Some organizations may be able to temporarily extend access until April 1, 2027 by making specific Microsoft 365 administration changes, but April 1, 2027 is the final cutoff.

For software that has not been updated for Microsoft's newer sync technology, that creates a serious problem: the software may still work perfectly well, but its Exchange Sync feature will stop working when Microsoft blocks the original connection method.

Exchange Sync Bridge is designed for that gap.

Keep using the software your business already depends on.

Exchange Sync Bridge allows existing applications to continue syncing with Microsoft 365 even if the software vendor has not added Microsoft's new sync support.

Your current software keeps using its familiar Exchange Sync feature. Exchange Sync Bridge handles the Microsoft 365 connection behind the scenes.

Built to protect your Exchange data.

Exchange Sync Bridge does not store mailbox, calendar, contact, or task data. It securely passes sync requests between your existing application and Microsoft 365, returns the results, and does not keep a copy of your Exchange data.

ESB also does not collect user passwords. The only customer data stored by Renfield Software is the information needed to operate the subscription, such as customer contact details, tenant/setup information, and licensed user information for billing.

Start quickly with Cloud Hosted setup.

For most customers, setup is simple:

  1. Purchase a monthly subscription.
  2. A Microsoft 365 administrator completes a one-time Microsoft approval.
  3. The license key is redeemed and an install API key is issued.
  4. The Exchange Sync settings in the existing software are updated to point to Exchange Sync Bridge.

There is no Exchange Sync Bridge username or password for end users to remember, and users do not need to log into an ESB dashboard.

Administration of which users are charged for sync remains in the customer's existing software, based on which users are configured to use Exchange Sync.

Monthly pricing with no setup fee.

Cloud Hosted

$40 per sync-enabled user/month

Hosted by Renfield Software on Amazon Web Services. This is the simplest option and usually the fastest to set up.

Best for customers who want Exchange Sync Bridge to work without installing or maintaining a relay server.

Customer-Hosted

$60 per sync-enabled user/month

Install the Exchange Sync Bridge Windows service on a server you control.

Best for customers who want direct control of the relay environment, server, and network path.

No setup fees. No minimum term or binding contract. Monthly subscription billing. User selection is controlled by which client application users are configured to use Exchange Sync. Each month, billing is based on the number of users who have Exchange Sync enabled. Users added or removed during a month will be prorated. Total cost is adjusted monthly to match the current sync-enabled user count as of the renewal date. Taxes, implementation assistance, custom deployment work, and separately scoped security or isolation requirements may be additional. Customer-Hosted availability may depend on release timing and technical review.

Compare plans

No long-term commitment.

You can suspend monthly renewal at any time. Service continues until the next renewal date and then ends with no additional subscription charges.

Suspended accounts may be reactivated later. When service is reactivated, it restarts immediately and the reactivation date becomes the new monthly renewal date.

Built for software that still depends on original Exchange Sync technology.

Exchange Sync Bridge is intended for organizations using software that still relies on Microsoft's original Exchange Sync technology and has not yet been updated for Microsoft's new sync technology.

Because products use Exchange Sync in different ways, compatibility depends on the sync features your software uses. If you are not sure whether your application is a fit, contact us and we can review your situation.
